Malawi thrives on Maize (corn) and each home is responsible for growing, harvesting and storing enough for the entire family to get through the year. Because they've been so busy, Redson's family has not found time to separate the kernels and their entire home has become covered in a two-foot layer of cobs. Two weeks after the lights were installed in their house, they benefited from working late into the evening and all of the kernels had been separated and stored in rodent-proof bags.
